Yesterday was a solid first day… I had temptations but was able to keep the mindset…  the only slip was drinking too much pineapple juice… I planned on having 8 oz… but that became 24 oz…

Granola bar for breakfast. Lunch was 2 spears of Pineapple, 1 slice of bread with 2 slices light bologna and 3 chunks of dill pickle. Dinner was a new idea.  Baked Chicken Breast with Rosemary and Lemon Glaze, white rice and roasted vegetables.  I drank water all day then low calorie Gatorade at dinner.. the pineapple juice was later in the evening.

I walked Bailey in the afternoon.  We only walked .77 miles but I worked up a sweat… Used the Nike+ with the iPod Nano for the first time.  It was very cool… gives you updates on your distance and time along with your goal (my goal was 200 calories burned)   It turns out that it is very accurate also as I mapped my walk after I was done and the distance is almost exactly what the Nike+ said it was.   I actually missed my calorie goal by 33 calories (but the 200 was just a guess anyway)  Next walk will add a small loop to the path to increase distance and calories burned.

So the net result was 1 pound lost.  I know that especially in the initial days of this the true benefit isn’t shown on the scale.. but a pound is a pound…

Today breakfast will be a granola bar.  Lunch is a left over chicken breast w/glaze and 2 pineapple spears.  Dinner is green salad with left over chicken chunks, corn on the cob or red potatoes (not sure yet)  Walk Bailey and stay away from the pineapple juice.
