how to drink more water
Wednesday 1/22/14….
Been having severe sweet tooth issues… but have been trying to be mindful of portion sizes on my meals.. have been avoiding fast food… I am still only exercising once a week (walk with daughter Toria) and have stared my water drinking method today so hopefully that will help also. Weight loss chart below… staying just under the yellow line so far… contemplating doing a 1 meal juice replacement but trying to get the mindset for it.
Below are my accomplishments from my last update (1/8/14) and how I have been doing on them…
- No fast food (had Carl’s Jr. breakfast the morning Cece and I went to Disneyland… no other fast food)
- Less diet soda (sticking with this… drinkking some fruit juice and more water)
- Limited regular soda (been sticking to this one too)
- Smaller portions at meals (Hit and miss.. in general I would say smaller portions, but not always)
- Walking once a week… just under 1 mile (walked on Wednesdays with Toria… didn’t want to last week but I did)
- Trying to eat fruit everyday (not really following this. Will try harder now)
- Just being more aware of my food intake (I am doing okay with this)
Adding:
- Drink more water everyday.
So.. I have been toying with the thought that I have to just say “that’s it” and not wait for some major motivation that has been absent for so long… not wait to find the right thing or person that will trigger me to lose weight and get healthy… I have to quit waiting for myself to have this inner spark… I have just accept that I have to do this and do my best to do what I can to work toward my goals.
That being said I am going to work on just one health related task right now… I am going back to my ‘6 Changes’ (see those posts HERE and HERE) system and working on my first goal.. water intake.
I have posted about water intake and how to increase it (HERE) and in general I drink more water each day than I ever did before that post… but it is hit and miss and I drink too many diet, caffine free sodas right now… so it is back to the measured trick that I used in that post. Tonight I will be marking a couple of water bottles and starting again.
Tomorrow I will be hydrated… and I will continue to be hydrated every day… in one week I will look at the next area to work on.. Impulse Control
Hello… So I have not been so successful recently on the working out or dieting… but I have been successful in drinking at least 64 oz. of water a day… My water bottle with the 8 oz. marks and the times on it has worked GREAT! I got an email newsletter from Richard Simmons a few days ago and it was focusing on drinking eight cups of water a day… I’ll admit that I have been very bad at this for a long time… I bring a bottle of water with me to work pretty much every day, but by the time I am leaving I have only consumed 8 oz or so.. and then when I get home I don’t do any better… I do drink my 16 oz of decaf green tea almost every weekday, but not water.
